Some of the best Pinots come from Ohio’s Grand River Valley region. From Pinot Noir to Pinot Gris, these Northeast Ohio wines have won high awards.
“And the award goes to another Pinot from the Grand River Valley in Northeast Ohio!”
Not surprising to hear those words. If you look at where some of the world’s best Pinot wines are being produced, you’ll notice that they generally fall along the same two lines of latitude, often referred to as the Pinot Belt, that share similar climates.
Along the southern shores of Lake Erie, Ashtabula County is often known for its place on the snow belt, but now finds itself on the Pinot Belt. Exceptional Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and even Pinot Rosé wines are winning over taste palates and winning awards.
