Mother of Sorrows Church
Mother of Sorrows Church is located about a block away from Bridge Street in the Historic Ashtabula Harbor. Designed by a German architect, the Church enshrines within its walls the tradition of Catholic worship, showcasing sacred beauty with its ornate Roman design. The bell named, "Mary, Star of the Sea", is housed in the bell tower that rises approximately 80 feet. Beyond being a superb piece of architecture, the Church is truly a house of prayer. It celebrates over one hundred twenty-five years of giving praise to God and being of service to the people. Mother of Sorrows Church is on the National Register for historic places and remains one of the most pleasing landmarks in Ashtabula Harbor. Guided tours are available May 26, June 30, July 28, August 25, September 15 (a free-will offering would be appreciated) 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm.
