The Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival is an annual fall celebration of the county’s historic covered bridges, local heritage, and rural communities. Held each October, the festival encourages visitors to explore Ashtabula County’s 19 covered bridges, many of which are located along scenic country roads and showcase several historic bridge-building styles.
The 2026 festival is scheduled for October 10–11, 2026. This year, the event is being organized differently than in past years: rather than having one central festival location, activities will take place at the covered bridges themselves, particularly around the Harpersfield, Smolen-Gulf, and Riverview bridges. Visitors can expect food and craft vendors, children’s activities, historical presentations, entertainment, souvenirs, and other activities at the various bridge sites.
