🌳 Plant 250 – Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary!

Join Ashtabula County on April 26, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Red Brook Metropark in Ashtabula for a special Arbor Day tree-planting event celebrating America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

Community members are invited to help plant Ohio native Buckeye trees across Ashtabula County as part of the Plant 250 initiative—creating a living legacy for future generations.

The event will feature Jason Van Houten from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), who will demonstrate proper tree-planting techniques and share expert tips on caring for young trees. Volunteers will receive hands-on guidance from Master Gardener Volunteers while planting Buckeye seedlings provided by Ashtabula County Metroparks.

Participants will also receive educational materials about Ohio’s native Buckeye trees, and Master Gardeners will have additional seedlings available for purchase.

🌱 All volunteers are welcome!

Come celebrate Arbor Day, learn proper tree-planting techniques, and help grow a lasting piece of Ashtabula County history.
