Markko Vineyard has an exciting announcement! During a recent cleaning, the team uncovered a few cases of Markko Excelsior dating back to 1986 and 1992.
In 1982, Arnie Esterer partnered with a French winemaker from the University of Dijon in Burgundy, France, to craft a sparkling Riesling/Chardonnay using the traditional méthode champenoise. This meticulous process requires months—even years—of careful attention, including precise dosage measurements and the hand-turning of each bottle. Each bottle even features a paint stripe on the bottom, marking the starting point for the riddling process.
