DESCRIPTION:Annual 8.5-mile Grand River race from Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark to Hidden Valley Park. \nFor ages 10 and older; must be accompanied by an adult if younger than 18. All participants must pre-register by April 19\, no same-day registration. Fee: $25 per person.\nAwards to top three finishers in each race category. All racers receive a t-shirt and a finisher’s medal.\nBe sure to wear a crazy hat — the more creative\, the better! — while you race for a chance to win the Maddest Hat contest. DESCRIPTION:🌳 Plant 250 – Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary! \nJoin Ashtabula County on April 26\, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Red Brook Metropark in Ashtabula for a special Arbor Day tree-planting event celebrating America’s upcoming 250th anniversary. \nCommunity members are invited to help plant Ohio native Buckeye trees across Ashtabula County as part of the Plant 250 initiative—creating a living legacy for future generations. \nThe event will feature Jason Van Houten from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR)\, who will demonstrate proper tree-planting techniques and share expert tips on caring for young trees. Volunteers will receive hands-on guidance from Master Gardener Volunteers while planting Buckeye seedlings provided by Ashtabula County Metroparks. \nParticipants will also receive educational materials about Ohio’s native Buckeye trees\, and Master Gardeners will have additional seedlings available for purchase. \n🌱 All volunteers are welcome! \nCome celebrate Arbor Day\, learn proper tree-planting techniques\, and help grow a lasting piece of Ashtabula County history.
