What to expect
Graham Road Covered Bridge Metropark is a small yet historically significant destination featuring a beautifully preserved covered bridge and peaceful picnic area on a quarter-acre site. The bridge, a single-span Town truss, was constructed in 1913 using materials salvaged from an earlier covered bridge that had been damaged by flooding. In 1971, local resident Bob Benson stepped in to save the historic structure from demolition, donating the property where the bridge was relocated the following year. Today, the bridge stands near its original location in Pierpont Township, spanning a tributary of the Ashtabula River. While it is no longer open to vehicle traffic, the site offers visitors a quiet place to enjoy a picnic, watch for birds along the stream, and admire the craftsmanship of this historic structure. With its unique connection to the area’s past, Graham Road Covered Bridge remains a treasured landmark within the Metroparks system.
