What to expect
Graham Rd Covered Bridge Metropark is a small but historically significant site featuring a preserved covered bridge and picnic area on a quarter-acre parcel of land. The bridge, a single-span Town truss design, was originally built in 1913 from remnants of an earlier covered bridge that was damaged in a flood. In 1971, Bob Benson rescued the structure from demolition, donating the land where the bridge was relocated the following year. Now sitting near its original location in Pierpont Township, the bridge overlooks a tributary of the Ashtabula River. Though no longer open to vehicle traffic, it provides visitors with a scenic setting to enjoy a picnic, observe streamside birds, and appreciate historic craftsmanship. With its deep ties to local history, Graham Road Covered Bridge remains a cherished landmark within the Metroparks system.
