What to expect
Once home to the Harbor Country Club and golf course in Saybrook Township, Red Brook Metropark has been transformed into one of Ashtabula County Metroparks’ newest natural preserves. The 162-acre park features approximately three miles of paved and mowed trails, including a one-mile ADA-accessible loop that has quickly become a popular route for walkers and runners. The property protects two miles of Red Brook and showcases a diverse landscape of forests, meadows, and floodplains, all just steps from the shores of Lake Erie. Since opening, Red Brook Metropark has continued to grow, with new amenities including a pavilion, meditation labyrinth, and Metroparks office. Future plans include renovations to the former pro shop, creating additional facilities for visitors. The park provides year-round opportunities for fishing, birdwatching, hiking, photography, and neighborhood picnics. During the winter months, the landscape takes on a new life, offering opportunities for sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snow biking.
