Maple Roasted Apple & Brie Crostini

Crostini with local brie, and maple roasted Ohio apple compote with thyme and sea salt.

Description

Crostini with local brie, and maple roasted Ohio apple compote with thyme and sea salt.

Ingredients

1 baguette, sliced into rounds
1 Ohio Apple, small diced
¼ cup Ohio Maple Syrup
1 T fresh thyme
1 tsp sea salt
1 wheel brie

Directions

1. In a small sauce pan, combine apples, maple syrup, and thyme. Bring to a simmer, for 10 minutes until apples have softened. Stir in salt and remove from heat to cool slightly.

2. Preheat oven to 400 and arrange sliced baguette on baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, until golden brown.


3. Slice brie into small bite size pieces and place one slice on each crostini.


4. Top each crostini with a spoonful of the maple apple mixture, drizzling all leftover syrup over the top. Sprinkle with any additional herbs and salt you may want and enjoy.
