Orwell

Where Nature Abounds
trail
Orwell is a rural and beautiful part of Northeast Ohio known as the "Grand Valley".  It is characterized by natural splendor and agricultural charm, with a growing Amish community complimenting the farming culture.

Ashtabula County's southernmost point of the Western Reserve Greenway Trail runs through this region.  The Trail is part of the Rails-to-Trails Program which transforms old railroad beds to recreational pathways.  It is pet-friendly, bike-friendly, and snowmobile-friendly.  The Greenway is maintained by the Metroparks, who are working on a final leg to connect Orwell to Lake Erie.

The Servants of Mary Center for Peace has the largest statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the world, standing at over 50 feet.  Pilgrims come from around the world to pay homage and say the rosary around the reflection pond.

Family holiday traditions involve a trip just east of Orwell to Manners Christmas Tree Farm, where guests can select a tree and enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride, concessions, and entertainment.

In Orwell, you are a short drive from Ohio's Oldest General Store: End of the Commons.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, guests find bulk supplies, good, penny candy, gifts, gadgets, and more.
